Vadodara Bridge Collapse: A major accident occurred in Vadodara district of Gujarat on Wednesday morning, when a part of the Gambhira bridge near Padra town suddenly collapsed. So far 13 people have been confirmed in this accident, while many vehicles fell into the Mahisagar river. The Gambhira bridge connects Central Gujarat to the Saurashtra region and this accident happened when there was more traffic on the bridge in the morning.

After the accident, the administration immediately started relief and rescue operations. All from District Collector to Health Officers are present on the occasions and are constantly monitoring the rescue operation. Rescue operation continues on the spot

After the Gambhira Bridge accident, the rescue operation in Mujpur, Padra area has been going on for more than 12 hours. Vadodara District Collector and other administrative officials are present at the scene since morning and are monitoring relief work.

Debris and vehicle fell in Mahisagar river

A truck full of soil and ceramic tiles also fell into the river in the accident. Search operation is going on on the spot. Hitachi machines are being assisted to remove heavy debris, and wires were used to straighten the truck.

Rescue work continues even at night

Fludlights were used to continue the rescue operations at night. So far, three bodies have been recovered, who have been sent to Padra Community Health Center for postmortem.

Identification of dead bodies and handing over to families

The recovered bodies were handed over to the relatives of the deceased after medical examination. District Development Officer Mamta Heerpara and District Health Officer themselves were present at the health center so that the families of the victims do not face any inconvenience.

One of the bodies identified by evening, one was identified as Mahendrabhai Parvatbhai Hatia, resident of Dwarka, while the other body was of Vishnubhai Rawal of Anklav.

5 vehicles absorbed in river, two rescued

Vadodara Collector Anil Dhamalya said that two trucks, two vans and an autorickshaw fell into the river in the accident. Two other vehicles were also on the verge of falling, which were removed in time and taken to a safe place. Apart from this, three people riding on a two -wheeler also fell into the river, but they managed to swim and get out.

Now wait for investigation

The reason why the bridge was collapsed, it is not yet clear, but the incident has definitely raised questions on the administrative system. Orders have been ordered to investigate the case and the technical team is investigating the incident deeply.
