Soon Indian passengers in UAE will be able to pay only through passport and mobile phones during the journey. Now they will not need to carry cash, debit/credit card or separate payment apps with them.
In Dubai, India’s Consul General Satish Kumar Sivan said that in the coming time all the necessary financial tools (such as bank accounts, payment system etc.) will be added to UPI (Unified Payments Interface), so that Indian people can make easy and safe digital payments abroad. He informed that this initiative is being taken to make this initiative easier for the movement and payment, especially for Indians.
At an event held on Thursday in Dubai, Satish Kumar Sivan said that now everything will be done easier. This means that identity and financial tools will be added to the same digital platform.
For information, let us know that the initiative has been started by NPCI International, which is aimed at increasing the acceptance of UPI in UAE. Currently, big retail stores like Lulu Hypermarket and Dubai Duty Free in UAE are now accepting UPI payment.
