Black Friday is on the horizon, and if last year is anything to go by, it'll be a good time to snap up a discount on a new vacuum. But if you don't fancy waiting until then and need something a little quicker, I have some good news for you - Shark has already released some early offers. One of the main ones that caught my eye is on the Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus Pet Pro cordless vacuum. The brand now has 41% off, bringing the price down from £479.99 to £279.99.

According to Shark, the vacuum is specifically designed to handle hair (be it from your own luscious locks or from your pet) and everyday dirt. It uses a special brush roller that helps prevent strands from getting tangled.

It's cordless, so it's great for zipping around the house, and it weighs just 4.1kg. The device also has a flexible wand, which means you can reach under furniture without bending down. The rechargeable battery pack can last up to 60 minutes and takes around three and a half hours to fully charge.

In a review, a Shark customer described the vacuum as "so easy to use and empty". They added: "It folds away perfectly. The pickup is awesome. My Dyson was not picking my dog's hair up, but this Shark does. I just love vacuuming now. The stairs are a doddle now, as I have arthritis in my hands, brilliantly easy to use. It was so easy to assemble the package perfectly."

The dual roller head adapts automatically between carpets and hard floors, and it also has a built-in odour neutraliser to help keep everything smelling fresh.

Overall, the Shark vacuum has an average rating of 4.2 stars from over 1,300 reviews.

One shopper said: "Love it so easy to use and a lot quieter than I expected, great suction and so easy to empty."

However, several reviews highlight battery life, which some say is due to the quality of the battery. Some say the battery's life runs down quickly. One customer said: "It's been almost a year since I purchased it, and the battery will only charge to 70%. When in use, though, it does pick up well, especially the dog hairs."

Battery life is one of the few areas where cordless models tend to divide opinion. The single-battery version of the Stratos offers up to 60 minutes of run time on paper, but as most owners will tell you, that can vary depending on the setting and surface. Still, for a quick once-over around the house, it's more than enough for most.
