Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's former UK base, Frogmore Cottage, has been getting another makeover amid the latest reports about Prince Andrew's possible move there. Pictures showed workers at the property in Windsor, which had recently been refurbished by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for £2.4million.
According to sources, there has been renewed activity at the Windsor property in recent weeks. It comes amid increased pressure for Andrew to move out of Royal Lodge, where he has been living since 2003, following the latest bombshells regarding his links to Jeffrey Epstein.
The Prince, who relinquished his royal titles and honours earlier this month, had reportedly previously refused to move to Frogmore Cottage when it was suggested as an option before the Epstein scandal climaxed.
But the latest updates have sparked fury among the public, who are increasingly asking for the royal to move out of Royal Lodge, for which he has a private tenancy agreement with the Crown Estate.
A source told the Sun: "People have been inside Frogmore Cottage working day and night. Over the weekend, the lights were on after dark.
"And workmen have been coming and going for weeks. It shouldn't need a lot of work done as Harry and Meghan spent £2.4million on repairs just six years ago and no one has lived there since, apart from the few months Princess Eugenie was there during lockdown."
It has been reported that one of the solutions put forward was for the former couple to have two separate homes in Windsor - Prince Andrew in Frogmore Cottage and Sarah in Adelaide Cottage, which will be vacant after the Prince and Princess of Wales's move in early November.
Despite this, a spokesman for Sarah refuted the claim, telling the Daily Mail that "No demands have been made."
It comes as the BBC reported that Andrew hosted Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and Harvey Weinstein at Royal Lodge, the private home where he lives rent-free, ahead of his daughter Princess Beatrice's masked ball 18th birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle in 2006.
The BBC said it has matched the trees and patio wall in a previously published image of Epstein, Maxwell and Weinstein to other pictures of Royal Lodge.
