Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav took part in the traditional ger festival at Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, marking the occasion of Rang Panchami. The festival, a colorful and vibrant celebration, saw Dr. Yadav performing rituals that included the ceremonial worship of the festival’s flag and the traditional weapons used in the temple’s akhara.
In addition to the rituals, the Chief Minister demonstrated the use of traditional weapons, a practice that drew attention from the attendees. Before participating in the ger, Dr. Yadav extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Rang Panchami, wishing for joy and enthusiasm in the lives of the residents. The celebrations included the active participation of the public, who also engaged in the playful exchange of colors, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. Photographs capturing these moments have been widely shared on social media, highlighting the enthusiasm of both the Chief Minister and the participants.
Dr. Yadav, through his social media posts, expressed his greetings with a traditional Sanskrit prayer, emphasizing well-being and prosperity for all citizens. He also noted the significance of celebrating festivals as a way to foster unity, mutual understanding, and social harmony within the state. According to him, festivals offer opportunities for communities to come together and strengthen bonds among people.
The Chief Minister’s involvement in such cultural events reflects his focus on promoting the state’s heritage and traditions. Since assuming office, Dr. Yadav has actively supported the recognition of regional festivals and has encouraged public participation in celebrations. Earlier, on March 5, the Chief Minister had also marked Holi at the CM House with a themed event inspired by the Brij region.
