There's positive news for enthusiasts of BBC's Picture Slam, as it appears several special editions are heading our way.

The beloved quiz programme, presented by Traitors star Alan Carr, initially launched in 2023 and features teams competing against each other to identify a rapid sequence of images against the clock to secure prize money.

Earlier this year, reports confirmed a fourth series had been commissioned and now, for the first time, will feature celebrity specials. The two specials will broadcast as part of the main series ahead of a celebrity Christmas special in December, according to TVZone.

Presenter Alan Carr said: "I am excited to return for another series of Picture Slam and to spice things up with brand new Celebrity episodes.

"Being part of this show is always a blast whether you're in the studio or playing along at home - let's get picture slamming!"

The series will feature three teams each presented with a succession of images, with each photograph carrying a cash value; the more pictures they can recognise, the greater their potential winnings, reports the Mirror.

However, for the substantial prize money, they must be able to name them all, and if they successfully accomplish that, they've secured a Picture Slam!

Objective Entertainment's Neale Simpson added: "Picture Slam is such a joy to make. Audiences adore Alan and the mischief he brings to the addictive and our inventively visual play-along games."

The quiz show commenced in 2023 and has amassed significant popularity over the years, with the 2024 series averaging 3.2 million viewers throughout its run, peaking at 4.1 million.

However, beyond his presenting responsibilities, the BBC star has been occupied as he's participated in the second series of Last One Laughing.

The series centres on a group of comedians who are placed in a room together and challenged not to laugh whilst they attempt to catch the other contestants off guard.

As one of the 12 comedians to appear in the new season of the Prime Video series, Alan admitted he struggled to keep a straight face.

He confessed to The Sun: "I've never done anything where you film for so long and your gut tells you that you want to laugh, but you just can't."

Express have contacted the BBC for comment.

Previous episodes of Alan Carr's Picture Slam are available on BBC iPlayer.
