Rajesh Dharmani, the Minister for Urban Development, Housing, Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training, made a visit to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic Institute located in Banikhet (Kanda) today. His inspection focused on various facilities, during which he provided important guidance to the management of the institute.




During his visit, the Minister stressed the importance of developing quality human resources as a cornerstone for a progressive India, with technical education being pivotal to this goal. He encouraged the faculty to extend their teaching beyond the standard curriculum, urging them to introduce students to emerging technologies, innovative practices, and international prospects.




Addressing infrastructure requirements, Dharmani instructed the institute to commence the establishment of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre on campus. He pointed out that this facility would not only serve the students but also create job opportunities within the local community. Additionally, he requested the management to draft plans for a boundary wall and called upon the Public Works Department to resolve the land erosion issues adjacent to the campus.




Prior to the inspection, the Principal of the institute welcomed the Minister and showcased a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation detailing the institute's accomplishments and needs.




The visit was graced by several dignitaries, including former minister Asha Kumari, Kamal Thakur, President of the Bhalei Mata Temple Committee, former Zila Parishad Chairman Dharam Singh Pathania, SDM Anil Bhardwaj, HIMUDA CEO Surender Vishisht, PWD Superintendent Engineer Jeet Singh Thakur, DSP Mayank Sharma, Principal Deepak Angara, faculty members, trainees, and other notable local figures.
