New Delhi: Not having played a single Indian Premier League (IPL) match till now, fans are eagerly waiting for MS Dhoni to kickstart his campaign in the league. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon received a heartwarming reception upon landing in Hyderabad for CSK’s next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday.

Dhoni is unlikely to participate in the next game for the five-time winners on April 18 but has travelled with the team to the city for the first time in the three weeks which comes up as a positive sign. Meanwhile late on Thursday evening, Dhoni received a roaring reception as fans had gathered outside the airport in large numbers just to catch a glimpse of the star player.

The wicketkeeper-batter was accompanied by his wife and daughter as he was safely escorted to the CSK bus by the security personnel. Initially sidelined for two weeks due to a groin injury, he joined the Super Kings squad that flew from Chennai to Hyderabad on Thursday afternoon ahead of the next clash.

In number of videos posted on social media, fans could be seen running towards the Super Kings team bus with their phones in hand to click a photo of the megastar. Meanwhile as far as his health is concerned, Dhoni is currently recovering from the groin injury that sidelined him and has also started light batting practice in the nets.

It remains to be seen whether the wicketkeeper-batter will take the field for Chennai Super Kings against Sunrisers Hyderabad but it is almost sure that he will take part in the side’s next clash against Mumbai Indians on April 23. This marks the first time this season that Dhoni has travelled with the team for an away fixture.
