Jacqueline Fernandes’ big decision

Mumbai: Famous Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandes has taken an important step in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case involving swindler Sukesh Chandrashekhar. He has expressed his desire to become a government witness in the Delhi court. On Friday, the court of Special Judge Prashant Sharma has sought response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on this petition.

The next hearing of this case will be on April 20. Jacqueline’s lawyer told the court that the actress is ready to fully cooperate in the case and is willing to become a government witness to expose the truth. The court advised him to first formally apply to the ED, after which the ED would record his statement and then propose to make him a witness before the court.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar is currently in jail in several cases. He has repeatedly claimed that he was good friends with Jacqueline and that they were in a relationship. He has also sent many letters to Jacqueline from jail. Both were seen together in some leaked pictures, but Jacqueline always said in the court that Sukesh cheated on her. She thought him to be a true businessman and was unaware of his real character.

In August 2022, the ED had made Jacqueline a co-accused in its charge sheet. The agency alleges that Sukesh had given expensive gifts to Jacqueline with the cheated money. In September last year, the Supreme Court had rejected Jacqueline’s plea, in which she had sought quashing of the ED case. His appeal against the decision of Delhi High Court was not heard. Now this new situation has intensified the discussion in Bollywood.

Jacqueline has been continuously maintaining that she is innocent and was unaware of Sukesh’s activities. If ED makes her a government witness, she can become an important witness in this case, which can increase further pressure on Sukesh. This case pertains to a fraud of Rs 200 crore, in which Sukesh had duped many people while he was in Tihar jail. Currently, the court is waiting for the ED’s response.
