The UK is set to see snow again before the summer, despite hopes for sun. WXCharts has forecast the wintery weather for May 5, with temperatures dropping to -2C and snow on the way.
Snow is expected in central Scotland at midnight and there will be rain across central and south Scotland, the north of England, north Wales, and Northern Ireland. Temperatures will also drop, with it being coldest in north Scotland between 0C and 02C. Central Scotland will be between -1C and 5C, while South Scotland and Northern Ireland will be between 7C and 11C.
The north of England will be between 9C and 14C, while Wales will be between 10C and 13C. The midlands will be between 12C and 15C, and the south of England will be between 11C and 14C.
The Met Office said of the period: "High pressure is likely to be centred close to or across the UK through much of this period, so many places will be largely dry with clear or sunny periods. Some showery rain may affect northern and western parts this weekend though.
"Colder air will also try to push into the country from the north this weekend but will probably only briefly make limited progress into the northeast, where it could bring a short-lived showery interlude, some of these wintry.
"Winds will be mostly light, but briefly stronger in the northeast as the colder air tries to come south. Temperatures will probably be near or slightly above normal for many, but with a risk of colder conditions affecting the north or more especially the northeast this weekend."
This Evening and Tonight: Showers gradually fading this evening. Clear spells at first, but thicker cloud moving westwards across eastern counties, with drizzly outbreaks possible. Winds strengthening in the south and west. Chilly where skies remain clear for longest.
Tuesday: Early cloud with patchy drizzle across some central and northern areas, soon clearing westwards. Otherwise, after a chilly start, dry with warm sunny spells for most. Windy in the south.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday: Largely settled through mid week, but turning rather windy in the south. Cloudy at times along eastern coasts with an onshore breeze. Warming up in the south and west.
