Summer Special Trains: In view of the heavy passenger rush during the summer season, Indian Railways has introduced three 'Summer Special' trains. Train congestion typically increases due to school holidays and rising travel demand. The volume of travelers—particularly those originating from Bihar—tends to be exceptionally high during this period. Consequently, Indian Railways' Summer Special Train 2026 initiative focuses on adding extra seating capacity and ensuring improved connectivity on high-traffic routes. This initiative aims to provide passengers with a comfortable travel experience. This decision offers significant relief to migrant workers returning home, students, and families, as traveling during the summer months is often considered the most challenging time of the year.
**Three Summer Special Trains**
Indian Railways has launched three special trains to connect Bihar with various major cities across the country. The objective of these trains is to accommodate the growing number of passengers and alleviate overcrowding on regular scheduled trains. These services will operate between Bihar and key cities in North and South India, thereby providing passengers with a wider range of travel options during the summer season.
**New Delhi–Supaul Special Train**
This train has been running daily since April 17, connecting the national capital, Delhi, with North Bihar. However, please note that this train will not operate from May 21 to May 25.
**Anand Vihar–Jogbani Special Train**
This train will run from April 18 to July 11; however, the service will not be available on May 23. It serves as an excellent travel alternative for passengers traveling between Delhi and Bihar.
**Saharsa–Yesvantpur (Bengaluru) Special Train**
This train is scheduled to run on April 16, April 23, and April 30. It establishes a direct link between Bihar and the major South Indian metropolis of Bengaluru.
**What are the benefits of the Summer Special Trains?**
In reality, every summer, trains traveling from Bihar to Delhi and South India experience severe overcrowding. Due to the limited availability of seats on regular trains, passengers often face long waiting lists. These Summer Special trains help mitigate this issue by providing additional seating capacity, thereby offering passengers the option of a direct and hassle-free journey.
Which Travelers Benefit the Most?
Migrant workers returning home and students traveling during holidays will benefit the most from these trains.
