Jet2 has launched a major expansion of its 2026 summer operation, adding 37 new routes as it continues to grow its Mediterranean market. The budget airline includes three completely new destinations, bringing the number of overseas destinations this summer to 66 and its total network to an impressive 532 services.

The additions come as the Leeds-based carrier continues to widen its reach from its growing UK base network, with Gatwick Airport seeing the most significant area of expansion this year. Compared to summer 2025, Jet2 will add 1.35 million seats amid continued strength in outbound leisure demand from the UK. Growth has been concentrated on core Mediterranean markets, with Greece seeing the largest capacity increase at 446,000 additional seats, followed by mainland Spain with 353,000, the Balearic Islands with 247,000 and Portugal with 159,000.

According to Air Service One, which built its calculation from Cirium schedule data, the expansion includes three new destinations - La Palma, Palermo and Samos. Jet2 has been particularly bold in Greece, where it has described summer 2026 as its biggest-ever programme, with over 3.5 million seats and 15 destinations on sale.

A major driver of this year's expansion is Gatwick Airport, where Jet2 launched operations in March, marking the opening of its 14th UK base. The airline is deploying a six-aircraft operation from the airport this summer, including five Airbus A321neos, with the airport alone accounting for 908,000 of the additional seats across the network.

Jet2 is also looking further ahead, with plans to enter the Egyptian market from February 11, 2027, with services to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh, taking its overall destination portfolio to 68.

Looking ahead to summer 2027, the airline plans to launch 20 new routes and add a further 1.25 million seats year-on-year. The airline also expects to expand its 14-aircraft fleet to as many as 145, including growing its Airbus A321neo fleet from 31 to 43 units.

According to Air Service One's analysis of Cirium schedules data, Jet2 has added 37 new routes for its summer network, bringing its total footprint to 532 services.
