Kolkata Knight Riders kept their IPL playoff hopes alive with a four-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in a rain-interrupted clash here on Wednesday.

Asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians — already out of the playoff race — could only manage 147/8 after a shaky start. The visitors were reduced to 41/4 inside six overs before skipper Hardik Pandya (26) and Tilak Varma (20) stitched together a 43-run partnership off 49 balls to steady the innings.

Corbin Bosch then provided late momentum with an unbeaten 32 off 18 deliveries, helping MI push towards the 150-mark.

For KKR, Saurabh Dubey (2/34), Cameron Green (2/23), Kartik Tyagi (2/37) and Sunil Narine (1/13) shared the wickets.

Chasing 148, KKR were guided by Manish Pandey’s 45 and Rovman Powell’s quickfire 40, with the duo adding 64 runs to keep the hosts on course.

Rinku Singh hit the winning runs as KKR crossed the line with four wickets in hand.

Bosch capped off an impressive all-round outing with figures of 3/30, while Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah and AM Ghazanfar picked up a wicket each.
