Vaibhav Sooryavanshi makes everyone be in awe of his unworldly batting skills with each passing game. The IPL 2026 Eliminator between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium proved it once again as Sooryavanshi ran through the bowlers to smash a blazingly fast 97-run knock in an unbelievable stay of just 29 balls.
Opening like usual, it took Sooryavanshi just three balls to hit his first maximum of the evening, taking down SRH skipper Pat Cummins to cleaners in the first over itself. Cummins could barely predict what was yet to come, though, as his next over saw the left-handed batter pound his muscles to hit a four and three sixes, announcing that he had well and truly settled himself in at the crease.
The 15-year-old did not spare anyone coming his way, as Sakib Hussain was at the receiving end in the fourth over of the innings, where Sooryavanshi not only smashed three sixes but also got to his half-century off just sixteen deliveries. At the end of the powerplay, Sooryavanshi had faced 20 balls, amassing a mind-boggling 60 runs.
The end of the field restrictions could not help SRH get away from the way of Sooryavanshi's marauding blade, as the Samastipur-born found a couple of boundaries in the next over.
The biggest was yet to come, though, as Sooryavanshi crossed swords with Praful Hinge, the bowler who made headlines for having gotten him out cheaply previously. This time, though, Sooryavanshi was well-prepared. A six off the second ball and a boundary off the third already got Hinge in a lot of pressure, as he missed his line and delivered a no ball to once again see the ball cross the ropes. The next couple of balls also went for maximums, as the youngster was now just one hit away from the fastest T20 hundred.
Hinge, however, enjoyed the last laugh as Sooryavanshi managed to find the middle of the bat with an uppercut but could not get past the fielder at the deep third man where Smaran Ravichandran completed a simple catch at the end, as he departed for a blitzkrieg of 97 off just 29. The batter came like thunder and went back like lightning to complete one of the most iconic knocks in IPL with five fours and twelve sixes.
