The IPL 2026 season was in the name of young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi. This 15-year-old player of Rajasthan Royals won the Orange Cap by scoring 776 runs in the entire tournament. Before the final match, only Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan of Gujarat Titans could leave him behind but both the batsmen failed to play big innings and Vaibhav remained the highest run scorer.

This season of Vaibhav Suryavanshi was historic in many ways. He not only scored the most runs, but also made many big records of IPL. Vaibhav scored 776 runs in 16 innings at an average of 48.50 and an excellent strike rate of 237.31. During this, he hit 72 sixes, which is the highest number of sixes hit by any batsman in a single season of IPL. Earlier this record was in the name of Chris Gayle, who had hit 59 sixes in 2012. Vaibhav showed his aggressive batting by hitting a six in every 4.31 balls.

Virat Kohli still has the biggest record

If we look at the history of Orange Cap, David Warner is the most successful player, who has won the Orange Cap three times. At the same time, the record of scoring most runs in a season is still in the name of Virat Kohli. He scored 973 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016.

Fastest batsman to score 1000 runs

In Qualifier-2 against Gujarat Titans, Vaibhav Suryavanshi also made the record of completing the fastest 1000 runs in IPL history. He achieved this feat in just 440 balls.
