Mbappe has featured in the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups, making 14 appearances in total and netting 12 goals.
During the 2018 World Cup, he scored four goals and was instrumental in France’s second triumph, including one in the final against Croatia.
In the 2022 edition, Mbappe claimed the Golden Boot by scoring eight goals, which featured a sensational hat-trick in the final against Argentina.

In 2018, Mbappe became the first teenager since Pele in 1958 to score in a World Cup final.
In 2022, he achieved another remarkable feat by registering the first hat-trick in a World Cup final since Geoff Hurst did it for England in 1966.
He also became the fifth player ever to score in two different finals and just the second to do so in consecutive editions, following Brazilian legend Vavá, who achieved it in 1958 and 1962.

He trails only Just Fontaine, who netted 13 goals for France.
Across all nations, Mbappe stands just behind Germany’s Miroslav Klose (16), Brazil’s Ronaldo (15), Germany’s Gerd Muller (14), France’s Just Fontaine and Argentina’s Lionel Messi (13 each).
At present, Mbappe’s total equals that of Brazilian icon Pele.
