Ravi Shastri on PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 became the longest serving elected Prime Minister in the history of Indian democracy. After traveling a lot around the world, I can say from my personal experience that the respect and recognition that India gets today is really amazing.”
The former cricketer further wrote, ‘There is a new feeling of pride in being an Indian. Wherever you go, India is seen as a country of strength, ambition and leadership. This change has happened because of the vision and leadership of our Prime Minister. Best wishes to you for continued success in taking the country to greater heights. Congratulations.”
PM Modi achieved this historic achievement after completing 4,399 days as the elected Prime Minister. With this achievement the Prime Minister left Jawaharlal Nehru behind. In this calculation, Nehru’s tenure has been considered since the first general election in 1952. This does not include his tenure as head of the interim government after independence in 1947.
Many works to infrastructure and development were completed during the tenure of PM Modi, which include the inauguration of the new Parliament Building, Central Vista Redevelopment Project, Duty Path, rollout of Vande Bharat trains, commissioning of INS Vikrant, Statue of Unity, Kashmir Rail Link, Noida International Airport, Namo Bharat RRTS and River Ganga.
