Washington DC [यूएस]June 30 (ANI): Illumination, the studio behind blockbuster franchises like 'Minions' and 'Sing', has released the trailer of its upcoming animated film 'Not Alone'. According to Variety, Hollywood stars Timothée Chalamey and Selena Gomez are voicing the lead roles in the film.
What is the story of 'Not Alone'?
This film is Shalame's debut in animation, in which the actor will voice the character named 'Joe'. Joe is an 'introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet life alone.' Gomez plays 'Fran', a 'brilliant astro-botanist who is building the world's first plant-fuelled rocket.'
According to the official synopsis, Joe and Fran are brought together to prepare for the first launch of this revolutionary rocket, and 'there is an immediate spark between the two, but neither of them is adept at romance.' Matters become complicated when three small, rowdy aliens take up refuge in Joe's home. According to the outlet, these aliens – Dunk, Wally, and Shirm – are on the run across planets from an inept law enforcement officer named Jandro, and soon they realize that Fran's rocket may be their ticket back home.
Strong star cast of the film
The alien trio will be voiced by British comedic actors Rob Brydon, Diane Morgan and Jamie Demetriou. 'Ted Lasso' star Brett Goldstein will voice Officer Jandro.
According to Variety, the supporting cast includes Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris.
Direction and production team
'Not Alone' is written by Illumination's Eric Guillen, previously co-director of 'Despicable Me 3' and designer on 'Despicable Me' and 'Minions'; Claire Dodson, editor of 'The Lorax' and 'Minions'; and Jonathan Del Val, co-directors of 'Minions: The Rise of Gru' and 'The Secret Life of Pets 2', are teaming up to direct.
According to Variety, the film is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Melendandri, with Joey Poirel, Richard Curtis and David Distenfeld serving as executive producers.
When will the film be released?
'Not Alone', a joint production of Illumination and Universal Pictures, is scheduled to release in theaters on April 16, 2027. (ANI)
