Green TV is set to launch its highly anticipated drama Mitti De Baway on September 23, bringing together Mahira Khan and Wahaj Ali in prominent roles.

Written by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain, the drama is being presented as a large-scale production with a rural Punjabi setting and an intense storyline. It also marks Mahira Khan’s return to television after focusing largely on films.

Mahira Khan will portray Billo, a strong and intense character at the centre of the story. Wahaj Ali will play Bala, a raw and ruthless character that represents a departure from some of his previous television roles. The actor has also undergone a physical transformation for the part.

The cast includes several well-known Pakistani performers, including Sohail Ahmed, Amar Khan, Hina Afridi, Uzma Hassan, Junaid Khan, Aena Khan, Fazal Hussain and Noor ul Hassan.

Sohail Ahmed will take on a significant role and is expected to play an influential figure in Bala’s journey. Amar Khan will appear in an intense Punjabi character, while Hina Afridi has also been cast in an important role.

Uzma Hassan reunites with director Syed Wajahat Hussain after their previous collaboration on Khaie. Junaid Khan is also taking on a different kind of character after playing more conventional lead roles in recent projects.

Aena Khan will portray a younger version of Mahira Khan’s character, while Fazal Hussain will play a younger version of Wahaj Ali’s character from the 1990s. Noor ul Hassan will appear as a police officer.

The teasers and promotional material have already generated interest among viewers, particularly because of the drama’s unusual setting, strong cast and intense characters.

Mitti De Baway will premiere on September 23, 2026. The drama will air every Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm on Green TV.
