Ranchi: The chief minister’s (CM) secretariat directed the principal secretary of the urban development and housing department , Sunil Kumar , to take appropriate steps in the long-pending recruitment of 141 junior engineers with the Jharkhand urban and industrial development corporation ( JUIDCO ).
The direction was issued on the basis of a complaint lodged with the chief minister’s public grievance cell by aspirant Sanjay Kumar on Oct 22. The department had advertised vacancies for 93 civil, 23 electrical, and 25 mechanical engineers on a contract basis with the JUIDCO. The aspirants had filled up forms with a fee of Rs 2,000 each in 2018. Though several years have passed, the recruitment process was yet to be completed, the complainant stated.
The aspirants met with the department secretary with essential documents on several occasions. Leader of opposition Babulal Marandi also wrote to the department, but in vain.
The aspirants, many of whom were near the maximum age limit, were undergoing mental and financial problems due to the delay in the recruitment process, the complainant stated.
A copy of the letter is also available with this reporter.
