Deion Sanders ’ girlfriend, Karrueche Tran , appeared worried when Colorado fans rushed onto the field following the Buffaloes’ 27-24 overtime win against Kansas State on October 31. A video shared on November 1 showed Tran quickly gathering her belongings before heading towards Sanders. “I better get to my man,” she told her friend, explaining why she wanted to reach him amid the celebrations at Folsom Field.
Karrueche Tran rushes towards Deion Sanders during Colorado field stormThe video showed Tran watching the celebrations from the stands as Colorado fans flooded the field after their dramatic win. As she noticed the crowd moving towards the playing area, she began collecting her things and preparing to leave her seat.
Her friend, who was recording the moment, appeared to have trouble hearing what Tran was saying and asked her to repeat herself. Tran then made her reason clear, saying, “I better get to my man.”
Her reaction suggested that she wanted to reach Sanders and make sure he was safe while hundreds of excited supporters celebrated around him. The Halloween game also meant many fans were wearing costumes as they made their way onto the field.
The celebration followed a difficult run for Colorado, which had lost five straight games before facing Kansas State. For Tran, however, the focus appeared to be on Sanders rather than the result. While the head coach was enjoying the victory with his players and supporters, his girlfriend was keen to get closer to him as the crowd took over the field.
Deion Sanders reacts to Colorado fans storming the field after Kansas State win The Buffaloes’ victory was far from easy. Colorado looked close to securing the game in regulation, but Kansas State quarterback Blake Barnett connected with Garrett Oakley for a touchdown with just two seconds remaining. That made it 21-21 and sent the contest into overtime.
Kansas State managed a field goal in the extra period, giving the Wildcats a 24-21 lead. Colorado then had its chance, and quarterback Isaac Wilson found tight end Charlie Williams with an 11-yard touchdown pass to finish the game at 27-24.
Running back Richard Young also played a major role in the win. He carried the ball 24 times for 120 yards and scored twice, including a 22-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. It was the best rushing performance of his college career. Colorado finished with 222 rushing yards, its highest total of the season.
Sanders was clearly happy with the way the fans supported his team after the final whistle. Speaking about the crowd, he said, “We got the victory. Young men are happy. Staff is happy. The fan base is happy. God bless the fan base. Still showed up. Still cheered their butt off. Still supported. Still was energetic.”
He also made it clear that he had no problem with supporters entering the field to celebrate.
“I love it. I want to see the kids rush the field. I absolutely love it,” Sanders said.
However, the celebration could bring a financial penalty for Colorado. The Big 12 has previously issued fines of $50,000 for field-storming incidents, although no punishment had been announced for this particular game at the time of the reports.
Sanders questioned the rule when discussing the possible fine, saying, “How is it $50,000 for rushing the field? Who made that a rule? That isn’t right.”
The win improved Colorado’s overall record to 3-5 and gave Sanders his first Big 12 victory of the 2026 season. The Buffaloes still have four games left and need three more wins to become eligible for a bowl game. Despite their difficult season, the victory gave the team and its supporters a much-needed reason to celebrate.
